This reference library update looks at the apartment of 1920’s – 1930’s band leader, Roger Wolfe Kahn (1907 – 1962). Famed designer Paul T. Frankl (1886 – 1958) decorated Kahn’s apartment in his mid-1930’s streamline style. The July, 1934 issue of Home & Garden did a two page article on Frankl’s redesign of Kahn’s apartment. To read it and the three vintage advertisements, click on the magazine cover above.
So interesting! And I loved the bookcase cutout around the sofa (If I dare use such a plebian word for that edifice!). Loved the GE ad, too…imagine that chic crowd jamming into the kitchen to admire a device none of them would ever deign to use!
